हिमाचल प्रदेश पुलिस ने नशा तस्करों पर कसी नकेल
आज पिछले पखवाड़े में मादक पदार्थों और साइकोट्रॉपिक पदार्थों की अवैध तस्करी रोकथाम अधिनियम (PIT ND&PS Act) के तहत आठ आदतन अपराधियों को हिरासत में लेने के बाद, हिमाचल प्रदेश पुलिस ने नशे के खिलाफ अपनी मुहिम को और तेज कर दिया है। इसी कड़ी में, मंडी पुलिस ने एक और आदतन अपराधी को इसी अधिनियम के तहत हिरासत में लिया है।
30.03.2025 को मंडी पुलिस ने मोहम्मद इशाक, निवासी गांव दुगराईं, कनेड को PIT ND&PS Act के तहत हिरासत में लिया। वह मंडी जिले के सुंदरनगर, धनोतु, कनेड, नेरचौक और बिलासपुर जिले में चिट्टा/हेरोइन की अवैध तस्करी में सक्रिय रूप से शामिल रहा है। मोहम्मद इशाक के खिलाफ बिलासपुर में ND&PS Act के तहत एक मामला और मंडी में ND&PS Act के तहत तीन मामले दर्ज हैं। एसपी मंडी द्वारा प्रस्तुत प्रस्ताव के आधार पर, संबंधित प्राधिकरण ने उसे तीन महीने के लिए जेल हिरासत में रखने के आदेश दिए हैं।
PIT ND&PS Act के प्रावधानों के अनुसार हिरासत में लिए गए अपराधी के खिलाफ वित्तीय जांच भी की जा रही है। इन जांचों के परिणामस्वरूप अवैध मादक पदार्थों की तस्करी से अर्जित संपत्तियों को पहले फ्रीज और बाद में जब्त किया जा सकता है।
इस नवीनतम कार्रवाई के साथ, PIT ND&PS Act के तहत हिरासत में लिए गए अपराधियों की कुल संख्या अब तेरह हो गई है।

Himachal Pradesh Police Continues Crackdown on Drug Trafficking
Following the recent action against eight habitual offenders under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT ND&PS) Act in the last fortnight, the Himachal Pradesh Police remains resolute in its commitment to combating the drug menace. Continuing the momentum, Mandi Police has detained another habitual offender under the same Act.
On 30.03.2025, Mandi Police detained Mohammad Ishaq, a resident of Village Dugrain, Kaned, under the PIT ND&PS Act. He has been actively involved in the illicit trafficking of Chitta/heroin across various regions, including Sunder Nagar, Dhanotu, Kaned, and Nerchowk in Mandi District and parts of Bilaspur District. Mohammad Ishaq has a history of criminal activity with one case under the ND&PS Act in Bilaspur and three cases under the ND&PS Act in Mandi. Following a detailed proposal submitted by SP Mandi, the Competent Authority has ordered his detention for three months in jail.
Financial investigations as per the provisions of the PIT ND&PS Act are also being undertaken against the detainee. These investigations may lead to the freezing and subsequent forfeiture of properties acquired through illicit drug trafficking.
With this latest detention, the total number of offenders detained under the PIT ND&PS Act has now reached thirteen.
